A rapper revisits his past in prison

Bobby Gonzalez was released on parole from Valley State Prison in September of 2019, after serving 16 years of a 25-to-life sentence. While incarcerated, he piloted an art and music therapy program that has been modeled across the California state prison system in collaboration with its mental health department. In November of 2022, he returned to Valley State for the first time to meet with his former fellow prisoners who are still enrolled in therapy programs. (March 2)
